I recently took a polygraph exam for a fairly large department, everything seemed to go well, although something struck me as odd. I expected the examiner to give me the results at the end of the test, which she did not. She didn't leave to study the chart and return to tell me I was appearing deceptive, which I've heard is common in order to get a confession. After the test she told me I would recieve the results in about a month. I asked her if everything looked alright, she said, things look alright and that I should be fine. I am concerned because I didn't get the results right away, which I thought is normal. Any comments would be appreciated.
thank you:confused

I know that initially the polygraph examiner (person that gave you the test) looks over the charts to spot any glaring areas. After the poly is over though, those same charts usually get passed on to another reviewing body (polygraph analysts or more technical examiners, not really sure the title for this posistion) and the graphs are gone over a little more granually to spot anything else that might be there. I've had to wait a week for one that I did, three weeks may just be because of a back up or something.

As far as the examination goes, sometimes the examiner does play the games, which IMHO is what the polygraph is really about, but if you have one that doesn't fool around I think you're pretty lucky.
