Whats up?

I have a kind of off the wall question. I have a six month delay before I move out to DC and have signed up to take some Masters credits at MSU while I am sitting around doing nothing. I was wondering if any one had any idea if Masters CJ credits transfer easily to other schools if I move out of state?
If I was in DC and wanted to continue my Masters could I?

Also does anyone have any good info on Masters degrees other than CJ that may be valuable for an aspiring G-man?

Thanks

Sulli

I would say that about any other Masters would be more valuable than CJ. Even getting a regular accounting degree as a second major would be a better idea, and the credits would definately transfer to another school.

sulli,

I'm not sure what MSU you're talking about, but Michigan State University has an online masters program that you may want to look into. If your MSU is my MSU then you should be good to go with finishing your degree regardless of where you move to. Either way, look into state's online degree. It sounds like something that could really work for you.

Any masters degree you get will look good when you're trying to get a job. The type of degree and how much value it has with an agency all depends on the agency. It's hard to go wrong with accounting, but I know personally I would rather have my teeth pulled out, without anesthesia. I'm looking into a CJ masters program because after I retire I'm interested in corporate security ($$$$$$$). Other degrees I would suggest looking into is any type of public administration/management degree. That will help set you up for a management position in whatever agency you hire on with.
