I have a question about the pyschological test. I am getting ready to take the written part in a couple of weeks for the Oakland Police Dept, I am curious if the Oakland Police Dept can find out why I was DQ on the pysch for the California Dept of Corrections. I know that the pysc is very confidential that even the state personel board said they don't let the dept of corrections know any information about the pysc results, all they tell them if I passed or failed. Im just wondering if Oakland can get that information from the California State Personel Board. I put in my phq that I was dq in the pyschological for the dept of corrections for history of poor judgement. if anybody can help me with this question I would be very greatful. Thank You.

You probably at some time or another signed a release with the department authorizing them to get a hand on any and all records with your name on it. I would almost guarantee that they will get their hands on that stuff unless California had different laws than where I am. In NY, they commonly share records with each other.

The exact reasons why you were DQ'ed on the psych are not even communicated to the department, more or less. This is because people with a non-clinical background would have such a rough time understanding the exact results. Many departments are just given a basic pass/fail from the PSY, or they're given a grade of A - F, like a school test.
Another good reason for this is that psych tests have whats called a 'test-retest validity'. As you experience new things your personality has the potential to change slightly, enough to be measured on a test. So, the results on your old test do not necessarily show where you are now. The MMPI has a retest of 1 year, the CPI 7 months. Just a little fun fact.
Do disclose that you were DQ'ed, but don't sweat it too much. Just try again if you can.
