Hello all,

I have been a long time reader but this is my first post. I was curious if anyone has received a call/email regarding the May 2005 vacancies for the “Investigative Specialist” or “Surveillance Specialist”. I understand that many of you are in the processing phase or have already begun working in SSG from vacancies posted last year (November I believe) or earlier. I have been interested for a while to join the FBI’s investigative mission but have just recently applied this past May. Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance.

I also applied to the Survelliance Specialist (05-2005-0083) and Investigative Specialist (05-2005-0101) in May 2005 (in order of application). My status for the Survelliance Specialist is "Application Received" while the Investigative Specialist is "Referred to Selecting Official" which was at the end of June, but I have not heard anything to date. I did email a couple questions to the POC on the posting and she relplied:

What is the timeframe for these positions to begin working? At least 2 weeks to a month upon successful completion of your background investigations.

Are class start dates already established? Class dates depend upon completion of your background investigation.

I received a phone call not to long ago and have an appointment set up in Philly in early August. Good luck to everyone in the application process.
