I had my interview for the SSG position about three weeks ago. When the interview was over, I was sure I did very well based on the responses of the interviewers during the session and when coupled with my prior law enforcement and execuitve protection experience, I was sure I'd at least get an offer. 2 weeks ago, I checked the FBI site and saw, "Not selected for the postion". It through me, but I figured it was just not meant to be. I returned from vacation yesterday and found a COE sent via email, although the main page still reflects, Not selected for the postion"....confusing to say the least. I hope the error lies in the FBI main page entry rather than receiving a letter I am not supposed to get. Any other similiar experiences?

I don't think that they're mantaining the site like some other programs are. For example, the my friends applying to IA are getting current, useful information. I haven't heard many SSG applicants say anything about the site. I've passed the interview and had my medical and mine still says "refered to selecting official". ;)

ProudDad,

Glad you got a COE. Just curious when you applied to this vacancy. Was it the May openings or sooner? If if was the May ones then they are on the ball with the hiring process.

To be totally honest, I haven't at all checked my status online at fbijobs until just yesterday. I figured that it wasn't necessary as I have been pretty well informed about my status throughout the entire process. Nevertheless, I was a little curious after reading the posts to this thread, so I scrounged up my fbijobs ID and password and took a peak yesterday. Surprisingly, my status there seems to be right on target...It says: GS07/09: Pending Favorable Background Investigation. To date I have completed the entire process, and my BI is closed (to my knowledge). Just waiting for my medical follow-up to clear, but I would consider that part of my "background" per se. So we'll see.

Good luck to you all!
