drug test?

A friend and I were wondering what is the most common drug test that is offered for all Le jobs these days. We don't have anything to hide or anything, we were just kind of curious. So any replies that would answer our question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and be safe......

Every department could be different on that one. Most drug testing is done by independent labs that contract with police departments as well as many other types of government & private industries. Not only can these labs differ from each other, but each individual lab probably offers a multitude of options & testing configurations in either the form of pre-packaged profiles or as a totally customized group of tests based on the clients' requests. I'm sure the most common tests are almost always included (pot, coke, heroine, etc.), but as far as what each department tests for beyond the usual stuff is limitless & anybody's guess. Usually when you go to give the specimen you have to sign lab forms that state what will be tested for.

That's an interesting, not to mention boring, thing to be "just curious" about there lightmeup. Just an observation. My advice is to stop smoking now! Just some light hearted fun. :D

Thanks for the replies so far except for the guy that said I was smoking something. Tell you the truth I haven't done an illegal drug my whole life. That was the best accomplishment I made through High School. But my question really was what is the most common used drug test offered. Do they side with the urine test or do they go with the hair samples more. Like I said earlier it was a question that was brought up and I thought this would be a good place to have it answered. I am far from a drug addict.:cool:

Most do urine tests because its easier and cheaper.
