Thinking about law enforcement

:alien: I'm new to this forum and I'm just looking for some feedback from people who are already in law enforcement. I am an Oakland paramedic for 13 years and considering the Oakland Police Department. Any takers?

I am not a Police Officer....yet!! But with your experience you have already shown your ability to become a professional and should be considered a very "qualified" applicant to any dept.

I do recommend doing a ride-a-long, if you have not already...

thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I've seen too many cop movies about how cops go bad, but I think I'd do alright with OPD. Good idea about the ride-along. I'll check that out.

I too am looking to get into LE after about 14-15 years in the medical field. I don't have any specifics on Oakland, but there are a few people from there & some are in the academy now & post regularly. Anyway, WELCOME!!! & GOOD LUCK!!!
