Oral Board Test, Alabama State Trooper

I recently participated in a Oral Board Test. Now I know that i stumbled on words all lot. I just looking for some clue that just perhaps I did a good job. personally never been to a Oral Board so I have no clue. Personally I believe I did good. I looked at the board dircetly and answered them to my best abiltiy.

Unfortunately, at police type oral boards, it's had to get any real feedback to get a sense of how well you did. The real feedback comes when you find out whether you advance to the next stage. At the very least, it's a good learning experience that will help you be better next time. Good luck.

i participated in the same oral board that you did. I don't know about you, but I was extremely nervous. I feel that I did do a good job, but who knows, we will find out soon I hope. My question is this, what exactly are the raters looking for in the applicant during the oral board test? Not everyone will know some of the questions, since some have no prior LE experience and will only be able to answer given what they have looked over in packets prior to the test. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Things that interviewers are looking for are;

1. Confidence in yourself that your answer is right. You need to show that you can stand by your decision.

2. How well you can portray what you are thinking into speech.

3. Clear and concise answers.

4. For some questions, your ability to reason and come up with the right answer while under stress.

5. Small things like personal appearance, and general attitude.

Hope that helped. Basically, each person on the interview board is deciding whether or not they want you to be the one backing them up next year.

Alabama's academy still up in Cullman? I was going to apply to them back in 86, but joined the air force instead....

I just received my results from the oral board test, did pretty well, scored in the top 25%. Anybody else who took this test? Any advice on what I should be ready for in what lies ahead in the process besides start getting in shape?

Hey, Big T I was curious if you could PM me some of the Oral board questions you were asked if you remember them. I thought their academy was in selma. The officers I have met have been really great.
