Morning All,
Been wondering your folks experience with 8" duty boots.

Have run Magnums for the past two years and they have not given me the support I need for my feet. Have even tried the plastic arch support and after sixteen hours literally on my feet, my "poor dogs" are beat.

I heard all the praise of Danners, but I was Godly-given mighty W-I-D-E feet and the Danners I bought (and returned) were too small.

Have searched in the forum here, including the archives, and their is limited feedback on various boots available.

Just wondering if anyone has any feedback/advice on a good pair of boots that will make these doggies feel comfy and keep me focused.

Thanks in advance and watch your threat!

Shasta -

There are more high priced boots out there than you can shake an ASP at - my recommendation, and this isn't from LEO time but applies equally, are BATES Enforcers in the 8". And they won't take food out of baby's mouth at around $70 (prices may vary, see retailer nearest your location).

Just my .02

I too enjoy the wonderful condition of W-I-D-E feet and have a high arch to boot (hahahaha no pun intended). I find the Danner's (strikers) to be extremely comfortable for 8 to 18 hours. Take a look at them.

Another Danner striker fan here, they have multiple models like 6 inch, 8 inch, 8inch all leather sidezip, all of them are goretex I think.

Thanks for your responses.

Heard a lot of folks for Danners, but with my original post, Danners are too narrow.

Tried the Bates and didn't like the fit.

Went with the 5.11 and starting the the second week, I have plenty of support and they are light as heck. My double shift last Friday went real well!

5.11's. So far, so good.

Thanks again for the reponses.
