I've searched through the archives, and am looking for some particular advice on upgrading my gun safe. We are nearing completion on some renovations in our new house...and I was able to sneak in a knook for a larger gun safe in our new master bedroom closet. I have to measure it exactly, but it is roughly 40" tall by 30" wide...40" deep (again, roughly)...and I am having a hard time finding a safe that'll fit (couldn't get the whole corner ;) the top half is upper storage in the bathroom on the other side of the wall).

I found one 40" tall safe on the Liberty website, but am wondering if anyone else has any particular models that they'd recommend?

If you live in a major metro area look for a safe distributor or a jewlery store fixture distributor. You might be able to find a used jewlery safe that fits your dimi's. It will probably be better than any commercialy marketed gun safe you'd find. Keep in mind that your going to have to spend some time customizing the inside though.

Fort Knox, Guardian & Protector Series might be able to help you. I sent you the link.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll look into them...looks like one of the Ft Knox is the right height...the rest are all over 60".

Ohh bummer...I just measured my space again...36" tall, 24" wide, 28" deep...that really cuts down my choices. I will definitely have to check into the jewelry safe.

For what it's worth, I just purchased a Sentry Safe from Staples. It's a home/office type safe with fire protection. It's not like the fancy, expensive gun safes out there, but it works for me and was inexpensive. Sounds like you have room for a 1.2 cu. ft. safe to me.

With those measurements, can you ask a welder friend to make you a gun cabinet?
