Well I am on my way Oct 1, Hershey Pa. (PSP) If anyone has been through this academy or similiar, how would you rate my condition. I have been running for about a year and a half, started when I began processing. I had to take it very slow to allow my legs to get conditioned. PSP requires that you run a 1.5 in 13:20 for my age (27). The best I have run it is 11:45. I am 5'8" approx 200lbs. I am by no means built for the sport of running. I have run 3.0 in about 27min and will run further at a slower pace on occasion. I have included major hills usually about the last 1.0 of my run. As far as the sit ups and push ups I have been meeting the requirments all along. Well all things considered I feel good and am no longer gasping for air during my runs. I don't think I'll break any world records due to my build, but I hope to keep up with the pack! :p

Sounds like you have made some good progress. Lot's of people are not built for running. But you have the right idea, running up hill we greatly boost your stanima, and ability to run longer on a flat surface. Also try doing short sprints, run as fast as you possibly can, for as long as you possibly can. Then do a light jog for 5 minutes, and repeat the process. Your time for the 1 1/2 mile is very good as it is, but it can never hurt to improve. Keep up the good work!
