I was at work when this happened and in with one of our fire department personell when the first tower collapsed. Firemen were in that building trying to extinguish the flames and that is what made many a grown fireman cry, if only in the inside, while I was in that room this morning as that building fell in slow motion. I got off work at 3:15pm and had to be back at work 11:15pm. I'd been up for 30 hours. I was Expecting a busy night as there were and are numerous F-15 fighter jets flying over my towns here west of Chicago making for jittery citizens. The state of Illinois as well many others have gone to a phase 1 status alert. Something you may not be aware of but it is as bad as a state can get and unheard of. I'm one who does not get stressed or get eerie feelings. But I must say that this day and the rumble of Amercian jets flying over my 911 center has given me an eerie feeling. The sights I saw live on TV are etched in my mind forever. May God have mercy on the souls of those who perished this day. May God have mercy on us all.

Jim it has been very hetic here also. The FAA center is right down the street from my Dept and they have been on high alert also. Many Officers down there for details (many ordered in). Didn't have the jets flying over head but with the FAA center and the Air Force Satelitte Tracking Station just up the road I know they werent to far away.

Take care & Be Safe. Yes may God Bless us ALL!

""I have been told by a member of that unit that no one from Field Comm was injured. There was one person who was unaccounted for; he was lost in the mad scramble to escape the area. He was found some time later however with nothing more than a bad case of soiled underwear :)

The above was the message I received. So it has been confirmed that there were no dispatcher deaths on Tuesday.
