View Full Version : Need Help Finding Boots (Guys with big feet please step in)
I recently have been accepted into the local police Academy and I had to go in to get measured up for my Uniform. They had a hard time finding boots for me so I had to hold off on those till I did some Research. I usually take a 15 4e -16 for my footwear. I do own a pair of Rocky Portlands that are a 15W and they fit pretty good. They're a little bulky though to be driving a car with I think. Someone suggested to try some Rocky Eliminators and the Uni shop just happened to have one pair in a 15W that someone special ordered. Well they're a little on the narrow side compared to my Portlands. My Grandfather used to own a shoe repair shop and he has stretchers and whatnot so maybe that could help. If anyone has any info for me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I'd also look at danner, they do make the bigger sizes, and they seem to hold up the best. The Striker model seems to be the popular one around here as it comes in Waterproof with the option of buying an insulated model. Diffrent people have diffrent uses, but for my money, I choose the Danners.

I went to the Danner website and the Strikers do look nice but they only have them up to a 14 D. Well the search continues. :)

Call Danner or Rocky directly. They may be able to do something for you.

Keep us updated because my foot is the same size, 15 4E.
Ya I'll keep you guys posted. I was hoping there was somone on here that has gone through the same problem but I guess the two of us are just freaks. :D
Well I ended up getting the Rocky Eliminators in a 15 W. Although they felt a little narrow when I tried them on at the Uniform shop, I've been wearing them around the house to break them in and they're much better. :)

Come on, Shaq. Can't you afford to just have some custom made!? :D
Ya I wish. When I was growing up I only had one pair of shoes at any one time because I kept needing a bigger size. For a few years my age and my shoe size were the same. :)
Check out the new Bates M9 boots. They're amazing. They come in black or tan, and have a few different options as well. I opted for the GoreTex black with zipper. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Galls has them, as do most other major vendors. Also, if you're a Lightfighter.com member, there's a big long thread on there about these boots. :)
