Hey I was wondering if anyone was currently attending the WA State Academy, or even previously. I just recently got hired with Pierce County Sheriff and I just wanted to know what to expect.

L8R,

What exactly do you want to know? I have never attended the CJTC basic course (been through some very good advanced investigative course), but know several folks who have, plus one of their DT instructors. Send me a PM, I will pass it along and try to get you some feedback.

I graduated awhile back from the CJTC, and I have a few things I can pass on.

1. Bring a computer, or have access to one. You will be writing alot. Alot.

2. Lots of PT - running, DT, and after hour workouts.

3. If you will be living there, you will loose weight. Food is not the best. If you don't live there - plan on spending as much time there as you can.

4. Study, study study. You are tested over *everything*. Everything.

5. All the staff there is top notch - the best of the best. It was an expeirence I will never forget.

Have fun and good luck.

I have been to the CJTC for other non-related things, but never to the actual academy. I act for reserve mock scenes etc. It's a nice facility, but I don't know anything about the academy.

However I know a lot of the staff, and like 625 said, they are all top notch. Good people and know what they are talking about.

Congrads on PCSD, they are a good department, one of my good friends just got hired by them too.

And if I know which DT instructor nsedet, is talking about, Expect to be hurting after lessons from him.

But Good Luck.
