THE EMAIL ADDRESS IS FINDOFFICERSMITH@AOL.COM

THE CAUSE -- AN NYPD COP AND HIS DAUGHTER, ARE MISSING THEIR WIFE/MOTHER. SHE WAS AN NYPD COP WHO WAS LAST SEEN BY SURVIVORS IN ONE OF THE STAIRCASES AT THE WTC, DIRECTING PEOPLE OUT OF THE BUILDING (LIGHTS WERE OUT AND THE FLORR WAS COVERED WITH WATER AND SUT.-- SHE WAS ALSO LAST HEARD ON OUR POLICE RADIO ASKING FOR HELP WHEN THE BLDG COLLAPSED.---

SHE IS A TRUE HERO---9 DAYS LATER, I MUST ASSUME THE WORST---SHE GAVE HER LIFE FOR SO MANY CIVILIANS TO BE SAVED.----HOW MANY PEOPLE DID SHE SAVE?---SHE WAS IN THAT STAIRCASE FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES.---A STEADY FLOW OF PEOPLE COMING DOWN THE STAIRCASE AT WORLD TRADE--HAD TO HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 1,000---THE BLDGS HELD 50,000 PEOPLE NOT COUNTING VISITORS.

THE SURVIVING HUSBAND/COP IS JIM SMITH. HIS WIFE IS/WAS MOIRA SMITH. SHE WAS A NICE FRIENDLY PERSON, WITH ABOUT 13 YEARS ON THE JOB. KNOWN TO BE INVOLVED IN SEVERAL MAJOR RESCUES AND INCIDENTS DURING HER CAREER.

ITS 9 DAYS LATER, ITS HER HUSBAND AND HER YOUNG DAUGHTER WHO ARE LEFT. THE POOR GIRL CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY HER MOMMY HAS NOT COME HOME.

I AM POSTING THIS IN SEVERAL FORUMS TO GET EVERYONES ATTENTION. I AM HOPING THAT EVERYONE COULD SEND A SMALL EMAIL, BLESSING THEIR FAMILY OR SAYING A PRAYER FOR THEM. --- I DONT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING THAT WOULD BE BETTER FOR THEM THAN TO READ SOME EMAILS FROM ACROSS THE WORLD , WISHING THEM THE BEST, ETC...

--ALSO KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU WRITE, THAT THEY STILL HAVE HOPE IN FINDING HER----

THANKS TO ALL

papimike,

i am replying for a few reasons. we have not conversed, nor have we shared thoughts. however, being in colorado and "distant" from the tragedy, if you will, it is hard to relate so i offer these few words from afar.

i was just checking on that morning the tragedy happened and was listening to one of the local FM stations, as i often do in the morning, a comedy station. at first, i thought of it as a joke, then as i flipped through the stations, it wasnt.

i, as many across the country, just fell into a state of shock, then a state of rage. i found myself driving around, not really seeing anything, not able to do anything, feelings of helplessness.

i have been visiting this board for quite some time now and rarely do i post anything as you can tell from my stats. however, i felt compelled to reply to this you posted.

i, as with many, were happy to see you ok. i, as do many that wear the uniform, feel for those in blue you have not saved yet, as well as the numerous other unsung heroes that have yet to be saved. my heart does go out to Jim and his daughter. i hope Moira is found safe and returns to her family soon, as do many of those that were lost in the tragedy.

words can not express what has happened, nor will they ever, but the rest of the men and women in blue, brown, green, black, and whatever uniform color one wears, know that they support you and pray for you, your department, the fire department, EMS, your city, and the all of those unmentioned heros in this time of tragedy. the good ol US of A will continue to be strong, will continue to progress, and will seek justice for the acts that have occured!

and remember, if anything, you have the support of this one in colorado.
