Does your agency have the internet? If so, what are the policies regarding its use in the PSAP?

Yes we have internet. Matter of fact I am at work now :D Basically the policy in a nut shell is if you can't tell them exactly why it was/is related to your job then you shouldn't and can't be on it.

Honestly this site would get me in trouble. The question I ask myself is do I care if they give me a "member development" (my dept's form saying we did something bad). Answer is NO :D

Our agency has the internet but no policies. As long as you get your work done, nobdy really cares. It's quiet enough at our center where I've been online hours at a time. Usually looking for other jobs while I'm online.

Yep we do too, and our own intranet with everything we ever will need.

Our policy is just this..."Work Related Only" or unless your like me and know how to delete all traces of you being there;)

We can go to non-work related work sites as long as we are on a break. Of course no porn or anything obvious like that. We can't use instant messenger services or be in chat rooms. We also have an intranet but nobody ever uses it, we just stick to the web. It helps pass a midnight shift. And it's much more secure to send fellow employees e-mails than put a piece of paper in their mailbox.
