Rebuild Nyc?

I just wanted to get some insight on what everybody thought about NYC rebuiiding the World Trade Center. I have heard mixed reviews about this idea. I personally think they should be re-built. By no doing so I believe it shows a sign of defeat, and a sign of fear. Just my 0.2 cents, maybe some will agree with me, and maybe not!

Here's my 2 cents worth.

The World Trade Center should be rebuilt as a high rise maximum security prison. Prisoners to be housed there would include those involved with the terrorist bombings and any other mass murder related crimes. It would also hold any war criminals that will soon be arrested as a result of pending military action in the Middle East.

The new maximum security prison will be built higher than the world trade center and will have a bullseye on each side of the building. Plus it would give a chance for the victims to come back and haunt the prison on a daily basis.

I definitely think that they should rebuild the WTC, except in a different location. I feel that the location that the WTC was at, should become some type of memorial for all the people who died in the attacks.

They should definitely rebuild the WTC. I think they should build one tower that is the tallest building in the world and a series of smaller towers. I think the best memorial we could leave for those who died is to rebuild it bigger and better than before. That will show the rest of the world that were not going to back down in fear.

Bigz you couldn't have said it better. Buiding 1 tower ast the biggest building in the world shows a sign of dominance. Which this country definetly is. A memorial with a series of smaller buildings is respectabally what is right, and will be done. If we re-build with a smaller image all the way around, it is like we are hiding and worrying about this happening again. If we don't re-build at all, well than all those who think that should just go join the Taliban ,and move to Afghanistan!:mad:

I've heard of some reports that architects were planning on building four 50-story towers, but I don't think it'll happen. Personally they should build two identical towers (bigger and stronger than before) and name them something associated with the incident. I haven't come up with a name for the new WTC yet, any ideas? I think they should also set up some type of memorial for all the victims and maybe have some debris from the WTC in a musuem to remind future generations of the heros that gave everything. Just my .02.

I don't remember where I read this it might have been somewhere on this board, but somebody suggested that they name one tower Bravest, and one tower Finest for the firefighters and police officers who were lost. I think that would be a great tribute with a memorial such as the Vietnams Memorial for all of the victims at ground level.

That would be a great memorial, they could engrave the people's names on the outside wall by the ground floors, but its still too early to tell. We'll just have to wait and see what happens!
