Keith,
I took my test back April and I passed it pretty high. The test has caused problems for some people but if you take your time then it should not become a problem for you.

The test will take about three hours I think. The first part you will take is all video, what would you do type questions. There are some that are common sense and then there are some where you know there are two answers but you have to pick the right one or at least come close. You are going to be timed on this section and I think you have close to ten seconds to answer each question. I had about three that kept me guessing when the next question was ready to start. Like I said keep focused and remain calm and don't start to panic if time runs out. I think there is 75 video scenarios or there might be more, I am not sure totally.

The next portion is your reading comprehension skills. This will be where you read an article and then they leave a line blank then there is three possible answers that may fit to make the sentence make sense. You have to pick out the best one that makes sense. This I flew by and had no problem with. I had like ten minutes left remaining until it was over. I have a friend that has failed this test three times due to low scores in this portion. Again, take your time and make sure you go back over your answers. It is just like school, skip it and go back if your not sure. If time is running out and you cannot finish then start filling in the blanks quickly. But if your strong in your writing skills then this should not become a problem for you.

The third step is the report writing. This you will watch a video of a certain situation. And then they will play it over again where you will ge to take notes of the crime scene such as witness statements of who they saw etc. Then you will have a certain amount of time to write a report with the information you have. They do not want you to write it in police form though which made it hard due to all the report writing classes I had and what I was used to doing. They will give you one sheet but they do not require you to fill the whole sheet out if you don't want to. Mine was like 3/4 of a page.

And then you will be done with the test. This was my first time taking it and I passed it pretty well. It is the type of test that you think you did very well on it but then you start thinking and you start second guessing yourself. But when I got the results in the mail then my heart started beating. I know people that has taken this thing three to four times and then I know people that passed this with flying colors their first time.

I am sure you will do well on this thing. Be careful and take your time and it will go by easy. Good Luck.
