Stop worrying! If you don't have flat feet, a bad back, poor vision, lousy hearing, are not over weight, and don't hide anything, you'll be OK.

To answer your question, you can be rejected at the MEPS for ANYTHING! I know a gut that was turned away because of asthma, I also know 3 that made it in with asthma. The things they are looking for are so individual specific, that no one can explain them all to you. Stop worrying and go. If the don't let you in, they don't. Worrying about it isn't going to change any physical problems you have.

Good Luck!

The physical examination at MEPS is very general! People get disqualified when they are asked about their responses to the questions on the medical questionaires. Some issues are referred to specialist for clarification. In other words, if you've never been diagnosed as having something, don't say I think I had...

Have a great day!

regarding MEPS physical,

LONG!!!!!!!

Don't sweat it though, very painless!

I am prior service and thought about re-enlisting, went through the process, including the ASVAB, and ran across one guy who was DQ for having some type of birth mark on his leg! I told him to try and talk with the counselor there, and see what happens, but nothing. I think that he had medical documentation on the status of it, but I didn't get to ask him about.

My advice is to just go ahead and enlist, and see what happens!
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!!!

You can get hit for anything, that is right. Now, a lot of the medical stuff will depend on your job for the military. Almost anything can be waved, pending on the branch of service. Example, pilots take flight surgeons exams and compared to the basic MEPS exam. The basic MEPS have different waveirs. As stated talk to the branch of service and the recuiters/counselors. Good luck.

Way back when----my recruiter told me thet they are there basicaly to see if you are fit for military duty and to dq you if you are not. they are not there to treat your medical problems. So the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut. Good luck in boot camp

Just to reiterate, make sure you read all questions on med forms. They will try and trip you up at meps. They look for things to Dq you for. Other than that as long as you got a trigger finger and you can shoot, move, and communicate your in. Trust me Meps is the most painful thing to endure to enlist in the Armed Forces. I know because Im a recruiter. They slam the door in my face whenever I drop off applicants. Your a great American for serving your country. SEMPER FI MARINE!
