I took the NYSP test last April 2001. I have been keeping an eye on the development of the NYSP, especially with the tragic events of NYC.

My score was lower that I had hoped but I understand that I may get a call within the year to process NYSP. My second choice is county sheriff, and third is law school.

I look forward to contributing to to the forum in the days to come!

Thank You,

Welcome aboard. You will get called sooner than you think for the NYSP. I took the test in April too! I thought I did mediocre as well. I received a call last month, when I was orginally told it would take at least a year with my score. We'll I guess that was false. Hey if ya have any ???? let me know. Good luck:)

Just thought I would stop by and say hi.

This site looks like a really great place to get some questions answered and give a little advice.

I am just starting the process of applying. I hope to find fulltime employment but will settle for a reserve position in the interim.

Holler when you get a chance.

I also too the NYSP test in april. I scored very well and in fact am already done processing and am waiting for "the letter". The academy starts Jan 7th.
Everyone is right when they say you will get called sooner than expected. They have already gone through 3600 people. 10, 741 passed the test. So be ready at all times and make sure you can pass the pt test. Be Ready!! The first pt test lost approx 700 people due to people either not showing up or failing the pt test.
