Monday, October 1st.

I come home and listen to the message on the machine, it is the HR person from the NJ Transit Police. She said, well congratulations!, You have the job...Please contact me to set up a start date!

About 10 minutes later the phone rings, It is a Lt. from the local County Sheriff's Department. She asked if I was still interested in the job, and that she wanted me to start training on the 9th of October. (I already put myself through the academy). I gave her an astounding YES, and she faxed me over a list of gear and uniforms I would have to buy. (uniform allowance included in base pay). So I went out and got fitted for my uniforms, and I go to work on the 9th!!

I am going to pass on the Transit job because the Sheriff's Dept. has more to offer, both in pay and opportunities.

P.S. I also received in the mail that same day a letter from my local PD setting up my oral interview!

I can't belive this is actually happening!! It felt SOOOOO good to go and get fitted for my uniforms! Truly a dream come true!

Thank you all sincerely for all the words of encouragement.
Steve:) :p  :D :D :D :D :D

What a story! This is a prime example of why anyone who is serious about getting into law enforcement should have several irons in the fire at any given time. Congratulations, officer!
