NAF Key West

Hello All,

Back to the Boards after some mega OT and hectic moving...

I have been on the job here for a few weeks now and am glad to report that all is well with the move, indoc and have met quite a few fine officers down here in Key West.

For those of you who missed my post, I am back in uniform as a 0083 Police Officer with the DOD; working for the Navy at the Naval Air Facility (Formerly Known as NAS Key West).

The prospects look good down here, we do work long hours but everyone is working hard to keep the place going and welcomes you aboard with open arms.

I will keep the Board Members posted on how things are going, I know I have been rare here in the last weeks but with the events that just passed I know you understand.

Regarding stuff going on off duty... well this is Key West.

My 3rd week here was Bike Fest... can you see 5,000 Harleys with riders to boot; Duvaul Street was closed off and you had Bikers tearing a** up and down the street doing the drunk dodge, quite a site, stranger than Daytona Beach.
KWPD was busy with that one indeed.

The week before was Woman Fest with the same number of women...

In another week we will see Fantasy Fest begin to take shape, if you have never been I must say come and see it for yourself...
think of thousands of 1/2 naked drunks (sort of like Madi Gras) but on a 1.5 by 4 mile island with only 1 way out.

I have done Fantasy Fest for the last 4 years and am amazed every time...
