Philadelphia CCW Permit?

I am currently thinking about getting a CCW permit for philadelphia. I would just like some general background about the process including timeframe,possible DQs, and any other info. that would relate.. thanks alot

Pennsylvania is a "shall-issue" state, meaning that if you're not subject to one of the mandatory disqualifiers, the sheriff (or Chief of Police, in Philly) is obligated to issue within a set timeframe.

Philadelphia doesn't seem to be fully convinced that Pennsylvania law actually applies to them (particularly with respect to time requirements.) Prepared to be patient or move to the suburbs.
