I have searched and searched, but I cannot find any information on whether a Bluetooth wireless shoulder mic exists for the Motorola XTS 5000 radios. I have only come across one model of the shoulder mic, HMN3158, but it appears to only work with certain HT model radios and the PR radios. An optional adapter only adds compatibility for additional HT model radios.

Does anyone know if they have a wireless shoulder mic for the XTS 5000 radios?

I hadn't heard of any sort of wireless mic until recently...I think it's very exciting, eliminating the hazards of the coiled cord. I hope it catches on.

Thanks,

I actually saw this at a trade show here recently, it is pretty cool, and likewise very EXPENSIVE. You can only reach the website of the company through several, coded, highly complex search strings...or just enter the words free and linc together in a .com address of your address bar. Those two words exactly as spelled comprise the company name. The product is called the FreeMic 200, it is compatible with most current motorola models. Obviously it is not a motorola product itself, which means it probably works great, unlike my motorola phone and radio. Hope this helps...

Ok, so I'm salivating! I so dislike the cord on my radio. The price is a little steep, but I'm loving the concept. Plus I'd love to see the looks on people's faces when I start talking into a mic that isn't physically attached to my radio!

If anybody splurges and buys one of these things, let us know how well it works.

The company that makes these "Freelinc" actually sent a rep that provided my group with free wireless shoulder mics and also wireless earpieces for the Motorola radios. We tested them in the field and I must say that they were not too bad. I actually liked the shoulder mics better because the earpieces were a bit bulky but they did work great. You talked into the earpiece by either pressing a button on it or you could switch to voice activation mode so you didnt have to press anything. The company is still working out some tweaks in both models but its great to see where the technology is going.
