Does anyone know if streamlights planning on putting out a STINGER LED w/the tail cap switch? I have the XT HP right now and I love the tail switch to much to get rid of it...

That would be nice! I love the Streamlight LED I carry now, especially the strobe feature. However, it's sometimes difficult to have the light out and activated as quickly as I'd like it to be, given that the switch is in a different position every time I use it.

Is there an aftermarket switch available that might fit/work?

If you are looking for an LED light with the tail light switch, check a company called Brite-Strike. (throw dot com on the end, to find them). Really love the light. On their "blue dot" series, the clip is on the back, so you can even hang it from your epaulette while you are doing something else. There are a couple of different options for the switch, the one I've got is a full/dim/off configuration. No I am not a paid advertiser :) , just really like the light.

I like the gladius' switch system (move the rear control either left, right to change between high/low/strobe) I just can't reason $200 for a new non-rechargable light, oh well stickin with the trust XT HP for a while, thanks for the responses.

I got my fiancee one of the new LED Stinger's and I'm about ready to steal it from her! For the money it is hands down the best all round duty light! I just can't justify spending the money to replace my stinger XT when I'm working straight days though...

Sure you can. Even days get dark when it rains, right? Not sure what part of TX you're in right now, but I know around here it's been raining a LOT lately! Perfect justification!
