Well I did it! 2 knee surgeries and serveral plane tickets later, I have been hired by the Aurora, Colorado Police Department! I start the academy Nov. 19. I am so excited!
It is so hard not to just go babbling to everyone here at my current job, but I have to wait two weeks before handing in my two weeks notice. It is soooo hard! I have wanted LE for a long time, and have wanted to quit this job for a long time too, now I get to do both! :D
Thanks to everyone on the board, and if there are any Aurora officers, can you give me a heads up on equipment that I am going to be responsible for purchasing?
Thanks again.
WOOO HOOOOO! :bounce:
Very big Congrats to you. Keep us posted and have some fun....it will be really hard to keep quiet about your new job, but think of how fun it will be to turn in the resignation letter. Can't wait for my turn.
Congrats to you! I know you've been working on it for awhile. You are going to a top notch and very professional police dept.
Good luck to you in the academy and in FTO training. Keep us posted in the rookie forum when you get a chance!
Congrats! Aurora is a great department. Have fun with ACT in the academy those guys are the best!

I will keep you all posted and check back often. Can't turn my back on the board now. I am addicted. :)
Still doing my little happy dance when I have my office door closed. :D

Nice job, Ridgeback! Now you'll have to change the "Location" entry in your profile! Have a blast at the academy.

Thanks again everyone. I am so excited, but it was pretty rough saying goodbye to the family and my friends this weekend. Ugh.
CO Hopeful, I haven't had a chance to dig out my application, but from the scratchings on my calendar, I think I started the process in April by submitting my application, so about 6 months total, and two trips.
Again, thanks!
