Good day! I am in the phases for recruitment into the Reserve Intelligence Officer program for the Navy. However, my career goal is in law enforcement and I would like to apply to state police organizations (very Mobile - interested in Washington). BUT many state agencies indicate one must be on call, etc. Having said that, how would being an officer in the Navy reserves look on my application? Would it be a positive or a negative? (Other quals: MBA, BA, CFE (c) and 9 years insurance claims and accounting controller experience) am I overqualified? Underqualified? I'm 28 and wanting to start my career! THANKS!

Having a college degree and being in the military would both be very positive aspects of your past. You should be very well qualified to get a state job, so long as you make it to the background investigation.
