PSP Test

Hello. I am wondering if anyone know's why PSP is giving the test in November? On their recruitment hotline they state they are not anticipating giving the exam until March 2002. I am wondering if the terroist acts and the swearing in of a new governor the other week has something to do with this. I am sure a lot of individuals are upset because they did not have in their application because the next test was not suppossed to be until March.


Anyone have any info?

Where did you hear that they are giving the test in November? The last I knew it was also March. It must have been nice to have a couple days off this week.

Yeah, March was the inside word I got, where'd you get the Nov. test?

I think the November test is for LCB agent.

Yes, it was nice to have a few days off this week. The letter I received was for the cadet written examination. I am taking it at Temple Univ on Nov 3rd. They gave a study guide with the letter also. The letter is the same as last year meaning it is your ticket to get in etc. I did not apply for the LCB examination. The test company they contracted is the same company that Delaware State Police contracted last year. I took DSP and the study guide is exactly the same. Call a recruiter and find out but once again the notification is for the cadet written examination.

I'm suprised that they moved the test up. Usually they push everything back. I have made it through the PSP process and I am just waiting for appointment to the academy. What is the name of the company? Is it the same one that they used last time or is it somebody different? They must be pretty sure that they are going to get rid of the cap. That would be the only reason, to test early, that I can think of.

When did you apply for the PSP? Just wondering when the announcement was.

There was no announcement specifically for this date. After the last test I got an 83.5 so I missed out on the orals by a small amount. I talked to a recruiter and was told to send in another application because they are now accepting applications continuesly. I sent it in in March and I got a letter stating I will be notified before the next exam etc. I came home from college the other week and the test date notification letter was in a packet with the study guide. The study guide is in a yellow binded paperback book and the company is based in State College, PA. I believe SHL INC. It is different than the blue book last time.

I thought there was a November test for LCB agent. I know they are going to push canidates for that postion vs the trooper slot since alot of LCB agents leave to become local cops within the first 3 years.
