I am currently in an OPOTA academy in ohio and I am on a medication called depakote, Depakote is used to treat seizures. Here is my situation I fell and hit my head when I was 16yrs old and was knocked unconsious and when my mother found me she said I was all tensed up like I was in a seizure state. I went to the hospital and had an MRI and a the other standard test they do and the test results showed no signs of seizure activity. Well about six months later I blacked out and my mother found me again and, again I was all tightened up and not alert, I went to the hospital and had the same tests done again and as before they were no symptoms. Well then about four months later the same thing happened and finally the doctor prescriped depakote and I have been on it for four years now and have had no problems since.
I am wondering how am I covered, if at all under the Americans with Disabilites act since I have not been technically diganosed with a seizure condition? How will this effect employment chances? I have been cleared by my doctor to participate in the academy im in now and have handled the physical tasks with no problem at all. Any opinions are welcome:)

Another thing to look at is that you haven't seized and haven't actually been diagnosed with anything and as long as the medication your on doesn't have a wierd side effects, a department is going to look at that and take it into consideration. I don't think it should affect the chances to much, but I am not a doctor.
