Congratulations! I wonder if DSS is selecting folks from all sections of the list (top1/3, middle1/3, bottom 1/3). Does anybody know if more personnel were requested in the budget? I believe there was an earlier post that said Mr. Powell had initially requested a little over 80 agents for fy2002. Congratulations again uncltone!

I was ranked middle 1/3rd, but I had to call them and correct some info they or I screwed up... such as my veterans preference. I believe the info that was corrected bumped me up or just put my name in their head. Thanks for the support...

I will call tommorrow every hour on the hour until I make contact and talk to someone real. For those of you wondering they will leave a message on your answering machine... they did on mine.

hopefully tommorrow I can get soem more info that you all might find useful. I am at FLETC right now for the 0083 course and it keeps me busy.

take care

CONGRATS! I wish you the best of luck.

By- the way, I've been trying to reply to your PM for a while now, can't get through. It's old now anyway, but check your inbox and clear it ALL out; You might not have deleted the sent messages and read receipts.

Have fun while you're at FLETC! Let me know if you have any questions.

SA Frequent Flyer and Crimjman,
Firstoff, thanks!
I have cleaned out my PM box, but who knows....I have not asked a moderator to check on it yet. As things progress... I definitly will have questions... I can't wait to get this ball rolling once again. Right now, I have to make sure I keep my focus to the matter of what I am doing at FLETC right now... I am sure you follow my drift. I'll kickass while I am here and then hopefully again in feb in the CITP course.

I'll post tommorrow what I find out from Mr. Nora.

Thanks again!

Well, you see... I met this little old man at this crossroads in the south.... he told me he would make all my dreams come true if I just signed away my soul. I said hell yes.... I am going to live forever anyway soooo.....

NAh, who knows. I guess when it rains it pours and I am not complaing one bit. I just wasn't expecting it.

Today I spoke w/ Mr. Nora and officially got the conditional offer.... pending a background and medical of course. Any of you current DSS SA's out there have any input for me for these two? I mean considering my current clearance and having a medical done very recently... should I forsee any issues? Just curious (and the questions begin)

uncltone and other lucky ones,

Actually, this is a post for anyone responding to this stage of the game with any agency. I shared this with some of you via PM's, but it'd be helpful for all of you to keep in mind.

First, COPIES, COPIES, COPIES of EVERYTHING that you submit to the G. Expect that THEY WILL LOSE IT, and you'll need to resend.

Second, cough up the $$$ and FEDEX everything back. If you FEDEX your materials, you can track when your packet arrives, and you can track who signed for it. Expect that THEY WILL LOSE IT and you will have to send it again, but at least you can prove that it wasn't your fault. It may get costly, but it will save you plenty of headaches. Claim it as a tax deduction. Some agencies may actually provide you with a pre-paid Fedex envelope; in this case, you have NO excuse.

Third, ALWAYS return your materials ASAP--yesterday!

Fourth, Call and verify that it was received, and that nothing was missing (your fault or theirs).

uncltone; the only reward you get from your current security and med clearances is that you shouldn't anticipate any problems when DS conducts your BI and your med tests. However, they will make you do it all over again.

If you experience anything other than "normal" med results, jump on it and re-test; prepare all options in case you need to appeal a medical DQ. This includes discussing a possible statement by your physician, etc.

Good luck to all of you.

Just a thought, but you can accomplish the same thing at a much cheaper price by using the Postal Service, either through confirmation receipt or their track and ship option (which, like FedEx, can now be accessed online).

UNCLTONE,

Tried PMing ya concerning my BEX in Phoenix, I wont go into specifics here, but to all I passed and felt decent on my performance. Always that hint of uncertainty.

Z,
either I am an idiot or there is something wrong with my PM capabilities. Just post on here and I will reply ASAP. Congrats on passing the BEX.

Well I cant PM you..

I managed to pass everything. i dont think it was too bad but it was a little stressful during the panel interview, but I feel that was self-induced. There were a total of 2 agents, one from DC and the other was a resident agent that is stationed in Phoenix, and the other individual was a foreign service officer from DC, a grand total of three people I talked with. I did not ask how well they thought I did, didnt want to pry, but they said I passed everything and we had a little Q & A after. I talked with the resident agent for a while after. He gave me his card after I asked. Dont know if this is a good sign or means nothing at all. I guess I will get something in the mail in a few weeks saying I passed and give my ranking. Hopefuly I wont be in the basement. I think I gave good concrete answers for most of the questions. Did they hint to you that there was going to be a class in Feb? My examiners didnt hint anything like that but then again, they are probably in the dark as to when the next class is coming in. See ya and keep us posted!
