View Full Version : 308 rifle
I am looking to purchase a 308 semi-auto rifle. I have it narrowed down to the AR10, m14 or G3 (HK91 clone). Any help with reliability issues would be helpful.

I'd throw my vote for the Springfield M1A variants.
A M14 with a conversion kit to cut down on the weight. Some of the kits come with a rail system. I know the Army has been using the M14 extesively and some units have used the conversion kits to cut down the weight.

Bike, I think you are referring to the Clyde SCAR stock.
That is one of them. The one we used was from Security Arms if I remember correctly. The website calls it the enhanced battle rifle chassis stock system. It has the picitanny rail system and can have a bipod attached. I heard pretty good reviews but I am sure some people did not like it. The Army Times did a pretty good article a few years ago about the success of the M14 and it’s reemergence within conventional forces. In fact now that I think of it, I believe the Army gave it a NSN.
