Anyone on the board own either a Walther P22 or a Sig Mosquito?
Looking at getting a new plinker and have narrowed it down to these two. Already have a Buckmark and know that the above two aren't going to be as accurate so looking for a more fun shooter.
Seems like a lot of mixed reviews on both so just curious to hear from some actual owners.

Frankly, I don't see the point of a 7/8 scale pistol with different controls than the full-size version. I think that you'd be better served with a Ruger or S&W .22 for 25% less cost. Just my 2 cents, you mileage may vary.

Fair enough. I have a Springfield XD9 and a Glock 23, and I already have a target quality .22 with the Browning.
Also a review I read said the Sig had the same controls as its full-size larger caliber brethren. I'm mostly looking for a cheaper full-size replica to plink with.
Have you looked at a .22 conversion kit? I know there are some out there for the Glock, not sure about the Sig though.

Thought about that but the prices are about the same as the cost of a .22 pistol.
I may pull the trigger tonight (pardon the pun) so I'll post what I bought and how it shoots.

There were some feeding issues with the earlier Sig Mosquito, but they appear to have been corrected. I've fired the Walther (in between FTF's anyway). I was not impressed at all. The Sig was pretty fun to shoot and accurate.

If Sig Sauer were a church, I'd be a high priest, but the Mosquito is an exception. I have one of those earlier numbers, and the only thing that's keeping me from selling it is a case of conscience about screwing over the next owner by not making full disclosure ("hey, no matter what you do, you'll never get through a full magazine without a failure to chamber, or fire, or eject.") Word around the campfire is that CCI Mini-Mags seem to perform better than most. I've never noticed a difference one way or the other.
If you do buy one, and find the magic solution, PLEASE let me know.

I bought the Sig and I am planning on hitting the range tomorrow. I have also read in a bunch of reviews that the Mini-mags perform well. A couple of reviews also said the later models were much more reliable across a wide spectrum of ammo brands.
Stay tuned...
