Local Police Officer Killed

An officer with the Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police was killed in a head-on collision Friday night, just East of Madill on State Highway 199.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials say 37-year-old special agent Robert Flickinger was found dead at the scene. He was reportedly attempting to pass another car on a hill when his pick-up truck slammed into an oncoming truck.
Flickinger joined the Chickasaw Nation's Lighthorse Police force in 2004, and was promoted to special agent last october.
He had a total of 16 years of law enforcement experience, was a veteran of the us navy and a graduate of the fbi national academy.
Police Chief Jason O'Neal says the department has lost a hero.
The other truck involved in the crash was driven by 67-year-old Ronny Goff of Madill. He and his wife, Donna Sue Goff, were transported to a local hospital.
Flickinger's funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill.
