Odd question for everyone here. Has anyone ever heard of people using the powder baby formula and melting it down to inject it? I ask this because my wife just went to get formula and it was not on the shelf. When she asked the manager of the grocery store if they had any in the back he said yes and explained why it was not on the shelf. He said people steal the powder formula, melt it down and inject it to get high. Hmmm, never heard of this. It must be someting new. Was he pulling her leg or is this legit? Just thought I would ask. Anyhoo, it will make for interesting conversation in the academy tomarrow.
I guess they'll have to put the Enfamil in the case next to the spray paint and model glue now!

I know its used as a cutting agent but haven't heard of injecting it yet.

Wow! What will they think of next? We are almost getting numb to it. If they thought eating a bowl of crap would get them high they'd do it. I know we have said it before but it's really sad out there.

DA,
The reason I heard it was put behind the counter was theft also, but in the terms that it could easily be resold, I never heard about injections.
As raven said, I know they cut and mix with it, just like baking powder. I think the store clerk was mistaken. I don't think any of the ingredients would get you high.
As toppdog said, I would not be surprised, after all, if you would smoke a dead persons finger because it's dipped in embalming fluid, then you would do anything. Maybe Dmclark knows.

Was the liquid formula on the shelf? I know of stores that have put them in locked display cases. Baby formula is one of the most frequent items stolen from grocery stores. One, because it is rather expensive and two, because it can be resold very easily, and even used as trade for narcotics. But I really wouldn't think people would try to inject it.
Powered baby formula is a well known cutting ingredient for heroin/cocaine. It is easily water soluable and doesn't interact with the drugs. It's considered a neutral carrier for the drugs.
I really don't think anyone involved in injectable drugs is considering his heart or health for that matter! Stay safe!
