Military policeman fatally injured in Iraq

FORT RICHARDSON -- Military officials say a Missouri soldier assigned to Fort Richardson was killed in Iraq.
The U.S. Army Alaska says Sgt. 1st Class Daniel R. Sexton, a military policeman assigned to the 164th Military Police Company, died in Balad on Wednesday of injuries sustained in a non-combat-related incident.
Military officials provided no further details about the death other than to say it remains under investigation.
The 53-year-old Sexton, of Wentzville, Mo., was assigned to Fort Richardson in June 2004.
Next of kin have been notified. A memorial service will be held today at the Post Chapel.
