I got this in an email.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had this message passed on to me from D. Taylor in Allen, TX, and he asked me to post the notice onto all the groups I belong to. After viewing the eBay auction link, I did this readily.
I cannot believe that someone ("firemedical" is the eBay username), is actually trying to sell, and appears to be succeeding, this particular patch for a profit - so soon after the events. There is no mention of any donations to any of the relief funds or nothing, as was at least done with some of the other memorial patches that have cropped up on eBay.
When David Kearney designed this patch, he expressed specifically that he did not want this to happen.....some of us had to sign a waiver when we ordered the patch from him. But, I guess someone will always try to make a buck.
Maybe if enough of us file a complaint with eBay, they will withdraw the auction.
Or......am I just way off base here thinking this auction item is in very poor taste???
Please post this on all patch trading lists that you are a member of. I cannot do it through my email only unit. Please attach a message for all members to attack this individual and ebay for allowing the auction. It just posted and when I wrote you complain I got a message saying there were already multiple complaints. Do it anyway, please. R. David Taylor, Allen, TX (taylorcrew@mymailstation.com)
