WELL I AM FINALLY STARTED FTO ABOUT A WEEK AGO AFTER GOING THROUGH EMT TRAINING AND DEPARTMENTAL ORIENTATION. IT IS FINALLY STARTING FOR ME. I AM VERY PROUD TO SERVE MY CITY. IT IS ALL SO OVERWHELMING THOUGH. I WILL START TO DRIVE ON MY NEXT SHIFT WHICH WILL BE FUN. I GOT TO HANDLE CALLS AND WRITE REPORTS FINALLY. IT IS KINDA HARD BUT A VERY EDUCATIONAL PROCESS. I AM A BIT SHAKY IN INTERVIEWING AND TALKING TO PEOPLE (SUSPECTS) BUT I HOPE I WILL GET OVER IT. I AM SO NERVOUS AROUND MY FTO BECAUSE I FEEL THAT I WON'T DO A GOOD JOB. HE DOES SUCH A GOOD JOB AT THIS JOB.

WELL, JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE A LITTLE. IT IS FINALLY A DREAM COME TRUE. FOR ALL THOSE THAT ARE STILL IN THE HIRING PROCESS OR ARE WAITING...HANG IN THERE. I KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE. IT WILL PAY OFF IN THE END.

Where in Minnesota are you working? I worked in Minnesota before with the Minneapolis Park Police before moving to Los Angeles. You don't have name the department. Good Luck and have fun.

Good luck to you and don't worry about the nerves. You'll gain more confidence as time goes by. Just try to relax and soak in as much info as you can from your fto.
It might be a good idea to do a search on this site for posts on how to survive fto!

The best of luck to you in your FTO status. Don't sweat the nerves, that will pass when you get a few of them under your belt. After a few more FIs it will almost come second nature.

Take alittle advise from a FTO? Relax, we expect you to make mistakes. that is why we are there. As for nervousness, it goes away with time and practice. Interviewing is harder then just asking question, it is listening too. You will do fine, take what you learned in the academy and find the times to use it.
