I have a quick question, I'm looking to buy my first gun. Which one should I go with Walther P99 or the glock 23. Any other out there to consider?

Thanks Be Safe

Very hard question to answer! You really shouldn't rely on someone here to suggest what gun for you to buy. Best way to decide on what firearm to purchase is to go to your local range and rent a few different guns to see what feels best or shoots the best for *YOU*.

I personally carry a Glock 22. I love it. Very reliable, good track record, many agencies use it and I shoot well with it. I have a friend who refuses to carry the Glock. He hates the way it fits his hand, feels, and shoots. He carries a Sig P-220 .45 and loves it.

Personal preference and performance will be the biggest deciding factor on what duty weapon is best for you. As far as quality and reliability, I don't know much about the Walther, but I haven't heard bad things about it. I do know a lot about the Glocks and I am biases toward them. I think the Glock would be the way for me to go if it were just left to the brand and both guns worked in every other aspect for me.

Why the model 23? Do you have small hands or just like the smaller weapon? The 22 is not much different and gives you a bit more gun to use, (size wise, not caliber).

Good luck, hope it helps!
