I am a recent college grad. I earned my degree in Criminal Justice Administration and am trying to find a job in probation. I was in the Air Force twlve years ago and received a General Under Honable Discharge for inhaling butane lighter fluid at a party in the Air Force dormitory. My discharge was rendered under AFR 39-10 and I also received a letter of reprimand for misconduct. I have been honest with my background when I apply to agencies. ( I have only applied to 2 agencies) I know what I did was stupid. I really don't know what to say when people ask me why I did it. My question is, " can this really affect my chances as to becoming a police officer or a prbation counselor?" Please help!
