I have already read the recent thread discussing Fobus paddle holsters. I am seriously considering buying some sort of Kydex paddle holster, but have seen concerns expressed on other websites about Fobus's durability during weapon retention drills (apparently several people have seen them come apart).

Does anyone have personal experience with the Uncle Mike's brand of Kydex paddle holsters? What about the ones made by G-Code?. Are they just as good as Fobus when it comes to both holster and weapon retention? By holster retention, I am refering to Fobus's famed ability as a paddle holster to remain firmly in place when drawing the weapon.

Any thoughts? Advice?

I carry a Safariland level 3 concealment Kydex holster and could not be more happy with it. It has done better than any other holster in retention drills. We are transitioning to a new weapon this winter and I already have a replacement holster. I have an off duty concealment, cross draw Kydex holster for my Glock 27 and it is great. No thumb break but it is solidly seated. I am a great fan of Kydex. I have generally found Uncle Mike's equipment of low quality but I have never really used it so it might be OK.

I strongly recommend Blade Tech Kydex holsters and have used them extensively for my Glock 30 and 27. They make quality equipment at a good price. My group particularly liked their paddle holsters and they wear like iron. (blade-tech.com)
