Did anyone catch Private Ryan on ABC Sunday night? For once it is nice to see a network have the balls to show a movie unedited. I just can't stand when profanity and violence are cut out and then the movie is shown on TV. It just isn't the same movie then. Cheers to ABC!!
Saving Private Ryan has become the standard for military movies. Hanks and Speilberg were respectful and reverent to the men that fought WWII. I bought the VHS tape, no commercials. Another great film that will quicken the pulse of anyone that loves freedom is Braveheart. The story is based upon real life events and characters.

What about the HBO series "Band of Brothers". Now there were some tough SOB's. Again, Spielburg and Hanks were involved. I think these two movies should be manadatory viewed by all 6th graders to let them know the cost of their freedom they enjoy today. Who cares if it offends a few people with some graphic scenes. I cannot begin to write about the amount of respect these men should receive for what they went through.

Bought the VHS tape when it first came out. Just got a DVD player and a flat screen TV, so had to buy the DVD. Had wife tape the movie off ABC so I could see the extra footage at the begining. I watch Saving Private Ryan every Veterans day to remind me of the sacrifices those men made for my freedom. I am convinced we could not get the same sacrifices out of most americans today. Too much Wall Street, MTV, selfish attitude, and no patience.
