Yes, after 4 months of testing and waiting, testing and waiting I finally got the call today.
The Lt. called and said, "all the paperwork is in and you got the job. You can start anytime you want." Yipeeee I start first thing Monday morning.

I'm working for the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Working in the jail - begging and pleading my way into the LE academy for January. The advisory power test is Tuesday then an interview. Otherwise I'll probably be in the corrections academy in March...boohooo!

augie the main thing is that you got your foot in the door, not to mention if I recall that you have a 4 year bachelor's degree, which since I do believe their requirement is 60 hours of college will help you in moving up, imo I would try to get some grad school courses in, this plus your experience will put you ahead of the game when the position of sheriff's police is open for you
