can anyone suggest a good carry pistol for a left handed person?
Sig or H&K. Both have the mag release on both sides and the de-cock lever on the H&K can be switched. Best to try different ones at a range and see what you’re comfortable with.
Glock...and no levers to fool with. I carried a SIG226/228 for years before going to Glocks. As a lefty, I HATE that decock lever. Forget levers and go with Glock!
I'm a lefty also and agree with dmclark in recommending the Glock. I've carried a Glock 21 since starting in law enforcement and love it. Some leftys have a problem manipulating the slide lock but with practice it becomes easy by using your left index finger instead of your thumb.

I am a lefty as well and agree with the above posts. I have a Glock 22 and it is great for left handers. One other thing, don't worry about the slide lock on it (as far as pressing it to close the slide). Keep your left hand where it is and use your right to pull back on the slide to release it instead. (Just yank that puppy backand let go). Do this instead of using your left index finger. This will keep your shooting hand secure and in position.

I agree you should use your off hand to charge the weapon and not the slide lock, but you will have to be able to manipulate it with you index finger when locking the slide back without a magazine like in a weapon inspection scenerio. It's not a big deal at all but a little different from what a right handed person has to do. Alot of people think the slide lock is a release on the Glock which it was not designed for.
