I'm having some problems with mine, I shoot 165gr Speer Gold Dot bullets, but when I was shooting at the range about every 35-40 rounds the next couple of shells would 1. stove pipe, and 2. after the stove pipe, the next shell would come over top of my head, now I switched to 180gr JHP bullets and not a problem one out of them. What are you guys shooting and what might have been the problem?
155 & 165 Gr Hydra Shok with no problem. You weren't using re-loads were you??
I think you got some bad ammo. I've only ever stovepiped one round and it was a reload.

No it was brand new ammo, never been shot. I ordered it when we done firearms in rookie school. For practice ammo I shot 180gr speer lawman and no problems what so ever, no stove pipe or nothen. Then when we shot our duty ammo (the 165gr gold dot) it started doing that and then I switched and didn't have a problem after that. Do you guys think its something with the gun, should I send it back to H&K?
Contact H&K and ask them. I'm sure they will know. I believe they are located in VA. I agree with jbak, I think you got some bad ammo. Where did you order it from?? It sounds like reloads to me. You should double check the fine print.

I ordered it from one of our firearm instructors, he ordered it from speer. It may have been bad ammo I don't know, I need to get out and shoot some more of different ammo and see if its just the 165gr or not.

I have thought about buying a glock, and putting my H&K up, maybe it'll be worth some money one day
Something to check on.
Some of the original 165 grain loads are not loaded as hot as other 165's. This lighter load was supposed to be more user friendly.
What you are using may not have enough zip to work the slide
properly.
Also, have you checked your magazines? Is it possible that one is damage?
The agency I used to work for had model 1 and model 2s and there were no stove pipe malfunctions while I was working on the range. (EXCEPT for the idiot who didnt clean his gun for about 600 rounds) There is always someone who needs a little personal attention.
You are cleaning your gun? RIGHT? GRIN
We had good luck with the 180 grain Golden Sabre's.

A lot of people will use cheap powder in their re-loads. In the back of my mind I'm thinking I've heard bad things about Speer. You may want to send JSavage a PM, he is usually up to date on ammo.

Yea its cleaned everytime its shot, and oiled. I'm thinking I might have been limp wristing, but I didn't change my shooting style any when I went to the 180gr bullets.

Check out Cor-Bon's new Powerball ammo....I think it is only available in .45, but it will soon be available in other calibers. Bad ammo is bad ammo, it can screw up any gun regardless.
Take care,
James
