Actually I am starting from scratch and going through the hiring process again. So far it is going a little faster than it did the first time I went through. It took me 18 months to get hired the first time with about 3-4 months between each test; right now I am back at the PAT having of course passed the written test and there has only been a one month interval thus far... I was talking to a couple of friends I bumped into at the Written test; a former classmate in the 202nd and a member of the 200th both had been terminated for differing reasons. The crux of it is that the guy that was in the 200th, is restarting is thrid time through with SFPD, and he did say that the process is somewhat trimmed down for former Recruit Officers since we already ahve a personnel file with the department which they are obligated to keep for a period of time and we will not have to do certain phases of the process again (I think he mentioned the Background,Polygraph, and possibly the Oral)...
We shall see; regardless I am now on the E118 list back in the hiring process. The only thing is I have been here before so I have sort of an insiders track on it all...:o
BTW I can not adequately express my feeling appreciation for your interest in my status. So I will just say thanks!

Right now I am just getting ready for the PAT on the 16th... Although there is a rumor flying around about a hiring freeze and that the department is not only halting new applications but not continuing to process current backgrounds... But right now all it seems to be is a rumor.

Hey Nonsequitur,
Wassup! I hope we just said is only a rumor. I haven't heard anything about a hiring freeze. Now, I might have to do some searching to find the answer to that. I do hope it is a rumor. Let me know if u hear anything else. Good luck to u in the PAT & I will let u know how I did on my Psych on Friday.

Sldierboy,
If the rumor I heard was true then you are not effected since you have already gone through the BI portion of the hiring. What I heard was that they are not accepting new applications, and people in the process, not already through the background or assigned a BI, are being put on a "hold" status... Of course I have not heard this first hand and it changes a little in each telling but I would like to confirm it myself before I state it as fact. Although it is just unnerving enough as a rumor... Especially for me since I am just back at the PAT...:(

Hey Nonsequitur!
I too enjoyed your posts on life in the academy! Frankly, I don't know how you found the time; I never seemed to have a spare minute. I'm glad you haven't given up and are back at it. Hang in there, I know you've got what it takes.
