Hello from San Diego

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself to this board. Hopefully this is the start of many post's to come.

I'm currently beginning the process of attaining my dreams in the San Diego area so I hope to make frequent updates and let you know how it goes.

Allthough I registered in September 2001 I've been lurking on here for quite sometime. This site has definitely helped me build my confidence as well as educate me about the tideous process that many of you have gone through.

It's great to read all your posts and I only hope I can be as helpful and informative as you all have been.

In a few months I hope to add another success story to 911hotjobs.

I too am new to the board, was lurking and then joined in Nov. Will be starting hiring process with SDPD soon!

I really enjoy reading these posts and you can definitely learn ALOT from some of the Vets of LE.

Thanks for the welcome. Nice to see other San Diegans out there. Did you take the test yet for the SDPD? I took it the other day with a group of 125. The recruiter said out of the 125 only four would be given a job offer. I guess everyone can't get hired.

Out of the 125 there were probably about three or four of us that had never been in the military.

I'm currently awaiting my test scores so I can move to the PAT.

125!!? Wow! No, I'm taking it in February. I went to the Recruiting Seminar on the 6th the same day as that test. Alot of those of us at the seminar had taken it that morning.

Would any of you happen to know when the next out of towner testing date will be? The website only lists dates for 2001.

Unfortunately all the material I have only pertains to 2001. If I run across the info I'll post it.

You could try calling the recruiting unit for more info. I'm sure the number is available on the site but if not here it goes....

I actually took it on December 6 and just found out yesterday that I passed it.

It's on to the BI session.

I'm not sure when the PAT will be.
