I am looking to purchase my first gun. Until yesterday (when I heard about this site) I thought I had my choice down to 3.
H&K USP 45
Glock 22
Sig P220
Now after reading this message board I am back to zero. I think these are all great tips, I certainly will find a place to shoot before I buy and I will get the gun that works best for me. What I want to know is where can I get information on all of the different makes and models of each of these guns and their differences?
Thanks.
If JSavage doesn’t respond to this post, send him a PM.. He probably has as much if not more knowledge about guns than anyone on the board.
A fast and easy way to get info on all three of the weapons your looking at is there web site (H&K, SIG and Glock). when you go to the Glock web page be sure to click on the english version. If your looking at past history don't worry there all top of the line and it will end up being whatever you feel right with.

Thanks for the info. I found a range in my area where they will let me shoot their guns for a fee. I am planning on going out there tomorrow. I am not in any hurry and I don't want to rush this decision so I have a feeling I will be out to the range more then once. Thanks a lot for all of your help.

Being a Glock armorer, I am totally sold on the Glocks, both of the other guns you mentioned are fine guns as well. I really don't think you could go wrong on any of the choices you have listed here. Good luck with your choice.
Dont forget to check out the 1911's. I don't want you to miss out on anything :D

Not to many agencys will allow single action firearms for duty carry anymore, shame is'nt it?
