OK, here's the deal...I've put in for and tested for a job with the Metro PD here in town. I did very well on the tests from what I understand. There is a problem. The Captain who is over Communications there is a VERY good friend of my Chief, who was the first female Captain in the history of the Metro PD before she retired from there. I just know this is going to cause a problem for me when he calls her and asks about me. My current department is already short 1 dispatcher, and I am their Senior one who handles most of the supervisory duties for communications.
Question is, does anyone know of anything I can do to impress this captain enough in the interview to make him forget about the situation my current department is in and go ahead and hire me because he wants someone who is really good at their job, which anyone around here will agree that I am??? Or does everyone think I'm screwed and better get used to where I am at now? Any opinions would be appreciated.
