Has stop/loss Stopped you?

I started applying to be a Deputy in Northern CA on 15 Sep. I go in for my final “You got the job!” interview next Thursday. The commander for the S.O. offered to write me a letter to put in a package to apply for a stop/loss waiver. The S.O. is aware that I can’t make the 07 Jan academy now. They are shooting for the next academy in Apr.

Has anybody else been affected by stop/loss?

Has anybody applied for a stop/loss waiver or heard of anyone applying, and if so was it successful?

I have heard of several people getting waivers. But the waivers are only applied to certain career fields. One of the guys that I work with got stuck by Stop-Loss. He had a date to start with the USMS but couldnt go. He has to wait until he is let out. The USMS said they will just put him in the first class after he separates. Hopefully it will be lifted for us come October... when I separate... being that there are no waivers for us (SF)... we are one of those critical career fields. Good luck!

I got caught in the stop loss also. Trying to transfer from NC Air Guard to VA Army Guard. I was told that I could do a waiver but that it would take up to a year to TAG approval.....
