Just bought myself a Palm Pilot. Are there any LEO's out there that use them for work?
If so, what are some of the programs that you use and where did you find them?
Thanks,
Hightower
I used to work for the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), which is a Member of the Texas A&M University System. While I was there, we built a state and then national Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) tracking web site for NHTSA so that agencies around the country could use and track drug trends. I'm not sure if it's still being beta tested or not, but it might be open for agency use already.
Anyway, our next proposed step was to create a handheld application using a PalmPilot. This would allow DRE officers in the field to input all of their findings into the handheld, then upload that information to the Internet when they got back to the station and had a PC to dock it with. It was a really neat idea, but I'm not sure if it's in development now or not. Like I said, I used to work for them before I got into law enforcement.
Just some fun information for you . . .

Try Dope Wars for your palm. Addictive game. You can download it from the net.
